Gina lives in central IL with her husband, their two sons, and their three pawed dog, LuckyLou. She received her BFA from SIUC in 2010 majoring in art and design, major concentration art education with minors in art history and museum studies.
Gina has exhibited in several juried art shows and her work has been displayed in solo and collaborative gallery exhibits. She has a painting in the permanent modern art collection at The Rochester Museum of Fine Arts located in Rochester, NH. In 2015 she had her work featured in a project collaboration with The Ellen DeGeneres Show and Houzz. You can find her work in stores such as West Elm & Minted.
In 2011 Gina and her husband, Nathan, briefly lived in New Smyrna Beach, FL. During this time Gina started painting seascape paintings and selling her works online while also attending art festivals all over the Florida region. Still today, many of her seascape pieces are inspired by the ocean and the vibrant blues of the coast. However, being a Midwest girl, you can see many of her landscape pieces are inspired by the beautiful fields surrounding her in central IL. She offers a variety in her pieces between land and sea and enjoys painting both equally.
Along with painting, Gina loves to teach. During the summers all through college she helped run the youth art programs for the city of Bloomington, IL parks and recreation. Shortly after graduating college she then began teaching art to 3rd-8th graders from 2011-2015. When she had her first son, Matthew, she decided to step back from teaching and focus on raising her family and becoming a full time artist. Since then she has started teaching after school art classes and has held a kids art camp at her studio every summer since 2016. Along with kids classes she has also offered art workshops for adults.
